According to our informants, ḥéyyaṭ is not quite synonymous with ˁéʸhoṣ: the former is used for merely descending into a body of water, while the latter is used for diving down to the very bottom.

v. n. ḥᵃzez ‘slaughtering’: wa-ˁádeʰ di-saḳɔ́ṭri škéroʰ tóˀo tóuḳar ḳáˁar wa-ṭeʸh tegóhom wa-ˀaḷ-ˁúmor hek bíľeʰ kaḷ ḥᵃzez wa-ḳéẓ̂hir wa-di-yaḥáyya bek men ḥaʰ id-ḥaʰ ḥeb ḷe-bíŝi šek bíľeʰ ‘And there is a nice tradition on Soqotra: you may enter one house in the evening and another at noon, and nobody will say to you anything but “Welcome! Feel at home!” — here and everywhere, even if you have virtually nothing in your possession’ (CSOL II 4:34)
