Cf. perhaps PS *wgm/ˀgm ‘to be sad, depressed’: Hbr. ˀāgēm ‘grieved’, Arb. wǯm ‘to be very sad’, Tgr. ˀagmä ‘to be grieved’, perhaps Akk. agāmu ‘to be angry’. For the semantic development cf. Tigre täˀagämä ‘to hesitate’, metˀagämi ‘stumbling-block’ (WTS 386), Tna. ˀaggämä ‘to be hard, difficult for someone’.
