a. zóhor ḫaṭár saľám ya mot ya ḥayáʰ ‘He rushed to the sea willy-nilly, be it life or death.’ (CSOL I 29:24)

b. ṭáhɛr ŝíbɛb yóˁod wa-yíboš fézaˁ ḷe-nhɔfš énneʰ yeḷátaˁš sáṭahan wa-šö́baṭ ˁaf yegodíḥin diˀáḷ sáṭahan sáľľam ˁéʸhen ˁö́mor as-saľámu ˁaľáykum ‘The old man set off, weeping as he went. He was afraid for himself, that the sultan would kill him. He was scared. When he finally reached the sultan, he greeted them (the sultan and his court). He said: “Peace be upon you!”’ (CSOL II 1:46)

c. tóˀo ˁö́mor as-saľámu ˁaľáykum wa-ráḥmatu ḷḷáhi wa-barakátuhu ragáš wa-ṣáme ‘And as soon as he said: “Peace be upon you and God’s mercy and His blessing,” he collapsed and died.’ (CSOL I 25:85)

d. ṭáhɛrk be-ľéľheʰ be-siyáraʰ wa-ho bíŝi še estébni tóˀo éraḥk ˁamḳ di-ḥaḷf hímaˁk ˁárho di-táyer tóˀo bánšarat náhakk ˁémer megɔ́še inέm šek ˁámok táyer deš-di-men ḥérhen bánšarat ˁémer hob saľamát ˁédo šin táyer ‘I was going in my car during the night, and had no spare tire. Midway along, I heard the sound of the tire blow, and I gasped. My friends asked me: “What’s with you?” I said: “One of the back tires is punctured.” They said: “OK, that’s not a big problem. We still have another (spare) tire.”’ (CSOL II 30:20)
