a. ˁag ḥᵃfeŝ díˀʸheʰ ˁan beˁér ḥamóľeʰ diˀáḷ beˁér diyáḥŝeʸh ‘A man reduced the load of his camel by moving a part of it to another cameľ (Bulakh et al. 2021:264)

pass. ḥⁱfɛŝ (yeḥóufoŝ/ľiḥfóŝ):

ḥomíľin ḷe-ˀébˁar tóˀo eráḥan ˁamḳ di-ŝégreʰ ṭaḥ beˁér wa-ˀaḷ éraḥ wa-ḥⁱfɛŝ ˁanš ḥamóḷ ‘We put load upon the camels. When we reached the middle of a mountain pass, a camel started to pant and could not go anymore. His load was diminished’ (field notes)

‘To make lighter the load (direct object) of a beast of burden (ˁan)’: a.
