‘To scratch skin, to abrade skin (as if to scorch)’: gerέŝeʸh ... be-zawľíyeʰ ... néḥe beʸh zawľíyeʰ be-ṭádaˁ ‘He dragged him ... along the carpet... The carpet was scratching his back (as if it was scorching it)’ (Bulakh 2024:133)
