ya ˁan ‘what a …!’: 

tóˀo ḳeˁö́we ḷe-ṣandúḳ íḳdɛm ṭad men ˁeyyúg be-ḳáneʰ ˁímɛr ya ˁan ḳáṣṣaʰ ‘And when the chest was opened, the people saw one of the men inside. Everybody said: “What a trick!”’ (CSOL I 26:91).

ˁan tóˀo ‘when, after, later’:

etymology

The only straightforward parallel is Arb. ˁan ‘from’. It stands to reason that the pre-suffixal form ˁan- of the Jibbali preposition ˁar ‘from’ is related to the Arabic and Soqotri form, but the historical background of the variation in Jibbali remains hard to elicit.
