a. ḳédor ˁouyέghɛn tɛʰ wa-gédaḥk ho ˁámok heʸh ṣaḷ rího ˁaf ľaˁmέ ḷe-tɛʰ kor yeˁófeŝ wa-ḷaṭ ˁamíyin díˀɛʰ ḷe-tɛʰ be-móḳdif ‘A boy was cooking meat. When I came, I said to him: “Put in more water so that it covers the meat and it boils. Then push the meat down with the stirring stick.”’ (CSOL II 3:8)

‘It (inanimate) covered something (ḷe-)’: a.

The basic stem verb ˁími is used about a substance covering another substance (melted fat covers cuts of meat). The animate causer is introduced either by the intensive stem ˁámi or the causative stem áˁme.
