ˁímɛr gέhɛm tan ḷe-míṣ̌her ˁag di-yešḷɛbíˀin wa-biš ˁayn ṭey ˁéno wa-yhen aḷ-ˁerébey wa-ˀézˁem ˁag sɛr míṣ̌her wa-ˀaḷ-ṣet ˁag érhon kaḷ tóˀo hímaˁ ˁag tóˀo yeḥóḷeb di-ṣ̌adher hiš hímaˁ eṣ̌ˁíro di-ŝḥaf di-fóti šeḷέbi ˁag deš óˀoz di-báḥľe de ŝḥaf wa-díˀyhe ḷe-rɛy neḳábo óˀoz be-ẓ̂áˁrhɛr wa-ˀíndaḳ hes ṣáre ‘They said: “One year a man came to our pen in the morning, and the people didn’t know him. He praised our goats, but he had the evil eye. The man took a seat behind the pen; and he couldn’t even see our goats, he only heard people milking them in a pot for him. When he heard the milk gushing down into the clay pot, he began to praise the goat being milked. Well, when he started to drink this milk, the goat let out a terrible cry, and the people made haste to slaughter it’ (CSOL III 15:6)
