naˁámer ḳádem ke témre di-ˀerḳóḥo di-ke-bóde baḷ ḷarḳáḥan aˁtótes wa-ṭa ḷaḷ yíken ḳáṣi naˁámer ḳóuṣa deš di-ḳádem wa-ˀaḷ-tóˁod be-ḳáṣi ke-ˀáˁtots wa-ṭa érhon naˁámer deš di-ľibóˀo wa-šftḥo ˁan ľhɛg naˁámer hes ḳadmhíyo wa-ṭa ḷaḷ áˁyeg naˁámer hes ḳadmhíyo be-ˁáyog aḷ-áˁyeg díˀse ke-ˀérhon ľhe iľ-šftaḥ saˁt ‘We say ḳádem when one female palm tree opens its ovaries early, before the others. The same happens during the harvest, when we say: “May this one, di-ḳádem, be harvested, it won’t be harvested together with the others.” It’s the same about goats: about one ready to breed and mated before the others, we call it ḳadmhíyo. It’s the same when they give birth: we say “ḳadmhíyo in giving birth” about one that doesn’t give birth at the same time as the other goats, those mated later’ (CSOL III 4:10)
