v. (IV)

a. ḳáṣik id-ḳáˁar wa-ḥéṭamk men šɛg wa-ṭaráf di-ˀaˁḳéḳoʰ wa-di-ˀemŝégoʰ ˁaf yeŝóunɛ bέˀi be-ḳáˁar ‘I was harvesting dates (and gathering them) into my house, paying no heed to what was from here or there – small or large – just so dates would be seen in the house!’ (CSOL III 12:9)

b. ˁeghéten tóˀo ḥáḷhoḷ ḥaʰ di-fiẓ̂óḥoʰ wa-ḥaʰ di-ˀaḷ-fiẓ̂óḥoʰ wa-ḥaʰ di-ˀemŝégoʰ wa-ḥaʰ di-ˀaˁḳéḳoʰ ‘Women are like dates: one is ripe, another is not ripe, some are big, some are small’ (CSOL III 13:24)

• ˁáḳiḳ to insult, to tease (usually by showing a middle finger)
