šin mébrehe ḷaḷ yebóurɛ yeḥóunok wa-deʰ di-yeḥónek aḷ-di-gedaḥ wa-yeḥónek wa-ľikán yeḥóurɛ heʸh men ˁag waľľá ˁážeʰ ŝfáḳeʰ wa-yeˁúmor heʸh ḥanέkɛn wa-hes ḥánkon ‘In our place, when a child is born, it is given its first food, and the person who gives him the first food is not any person who came from the street, but it is looked after a man or a clever woman, and such a person is called ḥanέkɛn, and a female giver of the first food is called ḥánkon’ (Naumkin et al. 2019a:79)

• ḥónik 1. to give his first food to a newborn child; 2. to accustom the palm saplings to the watering regime
• ḥanákɛn a male person who gives a newborn child its first food
• ḥánkon or ḥanekénoʰ a female person who gives a newborn child its first food
• ḥotének to start suckling (a newborn child)
• ḥᵃnek to feel at home
• šḥánik to be able to be suckled
