a. ḷaḷ yeḳóḷem έˀɛfo be-ẓ̂ayέfɛʰ ḷe-darṣ yebötéwen deʰ di-yenáhar ḷe-darṣ wa-deʰ di-yedáraṣ ‘When people are going to jump trying to reach the mark during a wedding feast, it is known (approximately) who can jump beyond the mark and who cannot reach it’ (Naumkin et al. 2022:255–256)

b. édof ˁag ḷe-darṣ menáḷ ˁad yeḳóḷem wa-ḳáḷaˁ beʸh tóˀo ŝíni nhɔfš yedáraṣ ‘A man, as he was jumping, grasped the marking stick and (angrliy) hurled it away as he saw that he was going to lose’ (field notes)
