a. ḷaḷ yéken šin áˁyɛd di-ramaẓ̂án wa-ˀáˁyɛd di-ˁárafaʰ yényheḥ έˀɛfo wa-ˀemboríyeʰ wa-yedóreˁ fíḳhɛ di-šker wa-yaˁáyed be-ṭahidídšen wa-téken šéʸhen fárḥaʰ ‘When we have the feast of Ramadan or the feast of Arafa, people and children are glad and wear best clothes and greet each other, and there is great joy among them’ (Bulakh et al. 2021 243)
b. έˀɛfo šin be-saḳɔ́ṭri wa-kaḷ be-bέdiyeʰ ḷaḷ yaˁáyed áˁyɛd di-ˁaráfi wa-di-rómẓ̂an yešrέˀhɛn ṭahidídšen men ḳáˁar id-ḳáˁar ‘People in our land, on Soqotra – and especially the bedouins – when they celebrate the Immolation Day, or the end of Ramadan, they go from house to house and greet one another’ (CSOL III 5:8)
