With Naumkin et al. 2022:255, undoubtedly related to Arb. dfˁ ‘to push, to thrust’, Gez. dafˁa ‘to thrust, to push’. Especially noteworthy is Tna. däffeˁe ‘to shatter, to smash, to crush one’s head with a stick’. See further DRS 299–300.
