wa-kaḷ ṣémhi iľ-yeṣóme yeḳóṣeˁ ˁeʸh wa-yeḳˁérer ‘Every dead they outlive — They stand by him in grief’ (CSOL II 5:5)

االشتياق اللغوي

Although the word is inherited from Proto-MSA (cf. Mhr. kāl, Jib. kɔ(h)l), in Soqotri it has lost its meaning ‘alľ in favour of fáḥre. Moreover, in neutral contexts this word has been completely ousted by the Arabic loanword kúľľeʰ, remaining only a poetic term (Kogan 2015:534, with fn. 1403)
