a. šéẓ̂ayfk be-ẓ̂ayέfɛʰ wa-ˀírḳaḥ énhi féreʰ ‘I was invited to a wedding-feast and a back leg of a cow was given to me as meal’ (Naumkin et al. 2013a:70)

b. ŝɔb di-ˀéľľehe ḷaḷ róuḳaḥ be-ẓ̂ayέfɛʰ naˁámer hes féreʰ ‘When a cow’s leg is offered to someone as a meal during the wedding-feast, we call it fére’ (Naumkin et al. 2013a:70).

The meaning of this term is different from fáˁam as it is restricted to large cattle. Our informants insist that this word is only applied to the cut of meat, not to the leg of a living animal (Naumkin et al. 2013a:70).
