ˁesiríni di-šɔm ‘late afternoon’: ḥéreˀk ḷaḥrέ men díˀʸho bᵉˁer di-yebέrber wa-ˀaḷ-késeˀk toʸh wa-menáḷ ˁak eḥóre ˁógiľ ḥeʰ ṭad ˁag wa-šáḳišk toʸh men díˀʸho bᵉˁer wa-ˁö́mor énhi ˁö́ṭab ḷe-ŝégreʰ di-ḳáfoz ímšin ḷe-ˁesiríni di-šɔm ‘I went to look for my camel that was in rut, but didn’t find it. While I was looking for it, a certain man came upon me, and I asked him about my camel. He said to me: “It had gotten beyond the Kafoz pass by yesterday afternoon”’ (CSOL II 23:39)

The etymology of Proto-MSA *γasr-Vn- ‘(in the) late afternoon, early evening’ is unknown. The presence of *γ in Soqotri is confirmed by the Western dialectal data (Morris–Watson 2019:112).
