этимология

Leslau (LS 297) compares PWS *ˁgl ‘to be swift, fast’, represented, inter alia, by Arb. ˁǯl ‘to be hasty’ and Syr. ˁgālā ‘celeritas’. This is, however, far from self-evident from the semantic point of view. Of interest are Gez. ˁaggala ‘to revolt, to rebel, to oppress’, Tgr. ˁeggul ‘ready to fight’ in view of the semantic link between “to meet, to be in front” and “to oppose, to fight” elsewhere in Semitic (Kogan 2015:87–88).
