The substantive íyyo ‘sign, indication’ is to be directly compared to PS *ˀāy-at-, otherwise attested in Akk. ittu, Hbr. ˀōt etc. (see further Naumkin et al. 2015b:43, Arkhipov 2019:55). The verbal root is perhaps denominal.
