a. tenaḫḫaméyt ˁaf báˁad taľátaʰ ášhur men báˁad taľátaʰ ášhur ékḥor áwwaľ méṭreʰ wa-ˀébded ɛ́hɛ men ḥa ɛ́hɛ ˁaf ḥa be-kúľľeʰ ṣabḥ wa-be-kúľľeʰ ŝɛ́hɛr ‘For three months I was spitting up phlegm. Then I started to cough from early morning on, and I had a tickling sensation from here to here, every morning, every month.’ (CSOL I 18:42)

b. be-zemán aľ-ˀáwwaľ ˁayn di-Ḳíso ˁayn ḳínoʰ ḳínoʰ kɛ́rhen temóḷe ḳáŝˁer ‘In times of old, there was a spring in Qiso, a very small one—just enough to fill a water-skin.’ (CSOL I 7:1)
