a. ṭáhɛrk wa-ḥánḳork tos men néḳheľ wa-tóˀo érḳaḥk tos fö́ṭašk tos wa-ksek tos kenóḥoʰ seʰ niḳároʰ ‘In the end I got it (a tamarind fruit) out from the hollow. When I took it out, I broke it apart and discovered that it was dry and inedible’ (CSOL III 19:55)

a. ˁouyέghɛn di-ṭáhɛr mustášfi kor yegóḥor ṭeʸh díˀʸheʰ ˁáḷeʰ di-niḳároʰ góḥor heʸh dáḫtar wa-ˁö́mor heʸh tegodíḥin tho báˁad ˁáŝer énhor ézˁem ḥoz di-ŝeľɛʰ énhor éľľe wa-seʰ ḳásḳes éḳdomk ˁey tóˀo ézˁem wa-ʸheʰ éẓ̂aḥ ˁámok inέm šek ˁö́mor ḳasḳésoʰ fe ˁáḷeʰ ‘One boy went to the hospital to clean out a tooth which had a cavity. The doctor cleaned out his tooth and said: “Come back in ten days.” The boy waited three days, and the tooth was still hurting. I saw him like this and continuing to suffer, and I said to him: “What’s with you?” He said: “My tooth hurts”’ (CSOL III 13:10)
b. éẓ̂aḥk ˁáḷeʰ di-niḳároʰ tóˀo toyk tɔ́mer wa-ḥaľwiyát ṣéroʰ ‘A decayed tooth of mine was aching: whenever I ate dates or sweets, it hurt’ (CSOL III 24:49)
