a. éʸhork méʸhen máḷḥo be-ˁamḳ di-kóde gédaḥ mέsɛ wa-ʸhen ber aḷ-ˁank ḥaʰ méʸhen ḥaľ ‘I was grazing some of my grown-up goat kids on a plateau. It started raining, and they were already in a bad way’ (CSOL III 1:21)

b. ˁážeʰ meˀdénoʰ wa-ˀéṭbes díˀseʰ ˁouyέghɛn ḷaḷ taˁágob tedˁór rího yáḥfefs be-ˀídi wa-ḷaṭ yekóḷeˀs díˀseʰ di-ḥaľ éṭbes ˁaf tö́ṣam ‘There was a woman who was chronically ill, and her son was taking care of her. Whenever she had to pass water, he’d carry her in his arms and then he’d bring her back. And he took care of her until she died’ (CSOL III 13:18)
