a. ḷaḷ tegohómen érhon ḥouḷóben wa-ḷaṭ ḳouḷáˁan taḥŝéŝen ḷe-nhɔ́fsen ‘When goats are gathered into a pen, they are milked and then released to graze by one their own’ (CSOL III 13:14)

c. naˁámer kéľmeʰ di-ḥeŝ ḷe-ḳénho ḷaḷ yeṭóhor wa-yeḥóre nhɔfš men eḳníyoʰ ḷe-ker ḥádeb naˁámer ḥeŝ ḷe-nhɔfš  ‘We use the verb ḥeŝ about livestock when it goes alone to look for food in the field. Then we say: “This animal is grazing on its own”’ (CSOL III 13:14)

d. wa-ṭaʰ naˁámer kéľmeʰ di-ḥeŝ e-múḫľoḳ ḷaḷ yegodíḥin ṭad di-ḳáˁar wa-yerɛˀέyenk yaˁámer óˀo embóryeʰ wáľľa έˀɛfo wa-ʸhen έˀɛfo wa-ˀembóryeʰ ṭéher di-tɛr émmeʰ di-soḳ waľľa ker ḳáˁyhɛr naˁámer ḥeŝ ḷe-ker tɛr ‘And we also use the verb ḥeŝ about people: when somebody comes to your house and greets you and says: “Where are the the children and adults?” and the children and adults are outside, at the market or elsewhere in the village, then we say: “They’re out (“grazing”) somewhere”’ (CSOL III 13:14)

e. ḷe-ˁóŝi ṭáhɛr ˁag wa-ḥeŝ menáḷ yáḥŝeŝ šédfaˁ mešedfíˁoʰ di-ˁayn ˁíyyɛn menaḷ báḳiľ tóˀo ŝínoʰ ˁeʸh góˁor wa-ˀetóˀotš ˁayn ḳeḷóˁoʰ beʸh ‘In the morning, the man left and went out to roam around. While he was roaming, he got stricken by the evil eye: the evil eye was cast upon him while he was going here and there. His wife saw he was ill (when he returned home) because the evil eye had struck him, and she left him’ (CSOL III 17:3)
