a. kánoʰ ses ṭeʸh šɔm di-ˁáni di-baḷ eghémoʰ wa-ḳíľiˁ wa-ṭaʰ beṭáḷoʰ ḳašḳášeʰ gírif di-gérof iľ-ˁásar ‘It had a day of abandonment, there was no driving it to the pen nor throwing pebbles at it, no knocking of sticks on trees, no searching for it late in the afternoon’ (CSOL III 12:3–6)

b. aḷ aˀáraḥ ekέši aˀágaḥ hésen men ekέši wa-ˀekóḷe híbik wa-ḳašḳášeʰ ‘And when I reach the trees, I (again) tap on them to attract the goats, and rap, and knock all up and down the Commiphora trees’ (CSOL III 12:5)

c. tóˀo hímaˁ érhon ménhi ḳašḳášeʰ wa-šemóˁoʰ gédaḥ wa-šéḳnem ‘When the goats heard me beating (at the leaves) and calling them, they came and started to eat what I was offering them’ (CSOL III 14:8)

• ḳášḳeš to knock down branches and leaves from the tree (as a fodder for cattle)
• ḳíšḳaš to be knocked from the tree (about branches and leaves as a fodder for cattle)
