a. tóˀo ŝáraḥk ḥágeb nóḥosk ˁeʸh mínṭoḳ wa-mέmbo kor yebágaˁ beʸh móŝriḥ ‘As I was pulling out a palm sapling, I had to clean off (the soil) from here and from there so that the iron tool with which palm saplings are extracted could reach it (and cut it off from the main tree)’ (Bulakh 2024:174)

b. ḷaḷ nešráḳaḥ ḷe-ḥaʰ di-badíyeʰ wa-noˀókeb di-ḳáneʰ di-máṭbaḫ neʸhámaˁ záˁadhom tóˀo toˀokében ḷe-ker éḳbɛľ wa-tenoḥósen taḥk men sɛk wa-ʸheʰ yeḳóˁod ḳádom ˁeʸh tóˀo yengífif ‘When we go up to the countryside and enter the kitchen we hear mice, as they enter through the ceiling andmake sand fall down from the roof, and it (the coarse sand) goes down so that you can see it stream down’ (Bulakh 2024:174–175)

c. ľísoʰ šin mέsɛ kľif wa-ḥérog rího sɛr ḳáˁar ˁaf máˁad yebóˀor mes ḷe-medómis rího énkaˁk mésmar wa-mégḥaf wa-ḷaṭ nóḥosk ṭin wa-ˁámok heʸh ḥaḷf kor yenέhɛr di-fóne di-gέḥi ‘There was abundant rain in our land, and the water was flowing behind the house till it finally got almost above the stones of the foundation. I brought a crow-bar and a rake and then I dug out some clay and made space for it (the water; that is, I made a gutter) so that it would go in the direction of the wadi’ (Bulakh 2024:175)
