1. утолщаться; 2. быть созданным, возникать; 3. превращаться, становиться
ثخن؛ خُلِق، نشأ؛ تحول، أصبح
1. ʸhö́maẓ̂k gízhɛr di-ŝḥaf kor yeṣáḳab énhi ḳáṭmᵉhem wa-ˀaḷ-ṣotéḳab tóˀo aḷ-ḥémaẓ̂ ‘I shaked a skin of milk to produce fresh butter, but the butter could not be produced because it (the milk) had not been soured’ (Bulakh 2024:132)
2.
a. ṣaḳábotš ḥéyhor be-ḥágher ómidk ber teḷóse wa-ṣatéḳab mέsɛ wa-lísoʰ ˁaf teḳoˁóden énḥar id-rínhem ‘There appeared (lit. it created) clouds in Hagher, so I thought that it would rain. And indeed there came (lit. was created) rain, and it rained so that the floods streamed downwards to the sea’ (Bulakh 2024:132)
b. ḷaḷ tegḥíľiľ ˁážeʰ yeṣṭéḳab bes mébrehe ‘When a woman becomes pregnant, a child is formed in her womb’ (Bulakh 2024:132)
3. edέfoʰ genníyeʰ ḷe-méŝraḳ di-ˁážeʰ wa-ḳeẓ̂áfoʰ méŝraḳ wa-ṣatéḳab ḳáni be-ri be-di-ˁážeʰ ‘A jinni woman took the comb of the woman and broke the comb, and it (its two parts) turned into two horns on the head of the woman’ (Bulakh 2024:132)
Most probably, the employment of this root in the descriptions of rainy weather (see also Bittner 1918:98) is a development of the meaning ‘to be condensed, thick (about clouds)’, in turn related to the employment of the verb to describe the thickening of the milk into butter (Bulakh 2024:132). For the latter meaning see example 1.
