a. ya saľám yektóˁor bes wa-yaḥtkéren bes aḷ-yedór wa-aḷ-yeḳáṣaˁ naˁaʰ fᵉraḥk bek bέbɛʰ ˁárom heʸh ḥor di-ˁeḳároʰ ber diyáˁ di-yeḥóker šfɔ́niŝ ˁáḳmehin beʸh ‘Well done! The kid will now be tortured at being so cramped and unable to move around or (even) stand up. I beg you, my son, move it to a bigger shelter. It is not good to torture any animal, it’s a sin’ (CSOL III 13:13)

b. šáṭik ṭay di-féteʰ wa-ho be-ˁamḳ di-méḳhim ˁodk wa-šégrɛyk wa-éʸhork ṭay ˁaf ekóse óˀoz di-ṣáme be-ḳáneʰ di-ḥor di-hídɛd ˁes ˁámok ya saľám ˁan di-šégɛ díˀʸho ḥaľéľeʰ ḥer zéˀe ˁáḳmhin díˀʸheʰ di-ˀóˀoz ‘I smelled carrion while at the bottom of a gorge. I went to look around, following the smell, until I found a goat who’d died while shut up in a stone enclosure. I said: “What in Heaven’s name! What has my maternal uncle gone and done! Today he has truly taken a sin upon himself because of his goat!”’ (CSOL III 13:13)
