a. ḷaḷ yeṭáˁam ḥéyhe bíľeʰ be-ḥe yešmaṭíḳin bíľeʰ keʰ miṭáḳoʰ wa-keʰ ribóˁoʰ wa-keʰ ṣiḳároʰ wa-miľóḥoʰ wa-míroʰ ‘When someone puts something in his mouth to taste it, he examines its taste, whether it is sweet or insipid or too sweet or salty or bitter’ (field notes)

b. ḳédork írhɛz wa-ˀaḷ-ˀémḷaḥk beʸh wa-tóˀo bέhɛḷ nétokk ṭáˁamk írhɛz rébaˁ ‘I was cooking rice, but I did not put salt to it. When it was cooked, I took it off the fire and tried its taste. It was insipid’ (field notes)

Metaphorically, can be used about words, statements with the meaning ‘to be weak, invalid, to lack force’:

égdaḥ trɔ šud wa-ľikán méʸhi šahádaʰ ribóˁoʰ ‘He brought two witnesses, but their testimony was weak’ (field notes)
