ḥéyhe šin be-saḳɔ́ṭri ke bíŝi šey ľa di-teḷέhɛ waľá di-teẓ̂ˁírir wa-bíŝi di-ˀóutɛ yégrer ḷe-nhɔfš diˀáḷ έˀɛfo kor aḷ-ľiṣmέ men guˁ ‘In our land, on Soqotra, if someone has nothing which bleats or screams and has nothing to eat, he goes begging among the people so as not to die from hunger.’ (CSOL II 4:34)
