etymology
No clear-cut etymology detected. Cf. perhaps Tgr. täˁaggägä ‘to be slender, thin; to collapse, to die (animals)’, Tna. ˁagäg bälä ‘to be about to die’. The similarity to JPA ˁgˁg ‘to roll, to wallow’ is likely accidental.
