ľísoʰ šin díˀḥan be-ḥaḷf wa-gédeḥ ṭáˁyhɛn wa-ˀézˁem mésen be-ḳáˁyhɛr díˀʸho be-ḥaḷf wa-gédaḥk tóʸhen wa-ˁámok héʸhen ľheʰ ḳáˁyhɛr iľ-ḥaʰ bédɛḷ ‘It has been raining in our tribal area, and a few temporary dwellers came and settled in in some of the houses in my village. I came to see them and said: “These houses are dirty (because of the mud emerging from the rainfall and, therefore, unsuitable for dwelling)”’ (field notes)

Leslau (LS 82) may be right to compare Arb. bḏl ‘to be careless about one’s garment’, to which one can add Jib. bɔ́tḏel ‘to deteriorate’ and, perhaps, Syr. baddolā ‘demens, insanus’ (LSyr. 59). See further Naumkin et al. 2016:63.
