báˁad-aḷ míľaṭ yeḥóurɛ men ḳáľyof di-ḷéḳhɛm wáľľa ḳáľyof di-ˀéˀteb wa-ḷaṭ ougέˀɛn wa-bouḷógen di-ŝérhi wa-ˀouṭáben beʸh ‘After the hair is plucked (from the hide), the bark of the ḷ.-tree or the bark of e.-tree is sought out, which must be pounded and put into the hide and beaten into it.’ (CSOL II 9:17)
other notes
Within the Soqotri language, it is only ḳaľífoʰ that is strictly applied to the bark of trees, as in ʕag ḳö́ḷof ḳaľífo men šérhom ‘a man removed the bark from the tree’. The word ḳaríšoʰ has a broader meaning, such as “husk” or “shell”. (Kogan 2015:486)
