a. wa-ˁúḳaḷ beʸh ḥoz di-ḥímeʸh énhor wáľľa ḥoz di-subúˁ wa-yeˀóuṭab kor yoˀókebš dor di-ḳaľífoʰ wa-yeḷkídid wa-yáˁẓ̂eẓ̂ wa-yaˁfírir ‘Then it (the hide) is left thus for five days to a week, and beaten to make the sap from the bark penetrate it, so that it becomes compact, hard and red’ (CSOL II 9:18)

b. ŝínik ˁag di-ˀaˁfírir wa-ˀérˁem tho ber ho di-ˀéẓ̂ẓ̂aḷk ˁeʸh díˀʸheʰ bustán ‘I saw a man who got red in his face, suspecting that I had destroyed his walled palm-grove’ (Bulakh et al. 2021:259)
