wa-tóˀo eráḥki aḷ-rénhem wa-díki ḷe-šaˁrέke aḷ-géhem mešaˁrikéten kaḷ geľέfe tóˀo ľiḳḷáˁ di-ḳáḷaˁ díˀyhe be-ˀéḳľehɛ yeŝóˁon díˀyhe fíḳha wa-ṭaḥ íľyhe ŝérhon ˁaf šerḳáḥki di-tɛr aḷ-ˀenkáˁki kaḷ ŝérhon di-šérḳaḥ mésen edróˀo wa-fíḳha di-ḥéṭaḳ wa-ˀaḷ-ŝiˀíki bíššoḷ di-ḥotéṭeḳ wa-ŝérhon di-gatéraḥ ‘But when we came to the sea and began to fish, it were no true fisherman coming to the sea – the opposite, it was a mess: whenever one of us would throw his hook, he’d catch it on his own clothes or else on his feet. And when we finally came out of the sea, we brought nothing but our bleeding feet and ripped clothes’ (CSOL III 16:72)
