a. éyhor tho sέrɛd méľḥe wa-ˀaḷ-nɛtédyo fe ber yóˁif ˁar ˁámok yúyhor tho men ḥérhen menáḷ ˁak óˁod níšik toy wa-ˀaḷ-nɛtédyo fe ber katénaḥ di-ḥérhen ‘A grown-up tamed kid goat was following me, and it did not occur to me that he could get lost. I said to myself: “He will follow me and go after me”. As I was going further, I forgot about him, and it did not occur to me that he went back’ (Bulakh 2024:211)

b. tóˀo ṭáhɛrk ˁámor énhi díˀʸho bέbɛ ḷaḷ teˀáraḥ ḷe-ḥa taˁámer di-maˁatímhim wa-tóˀo éraḥk ḷeḥa rénhem nɛtédyo fe kéľma díˀʸho di-bέbɛ ‘When I left (Soqotra), my father told me: “When you arrive there, put on the mask (on your face because of the covid-19 pandemic)”.
